ALDI, a discount grocer, is opening two new Arizona stores. These two Phoenix-area locations will be located in Chandler and Goodyear. Both will open on November 5th. The grocery chain on track to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022. The company said. Arizona will be its 37th state.
Reaching a Milestone with its First Arizona Stores
Tom Cindel, Group Director of Operations and Logistics for ALDI, said he was happy about the expansion in the Southwest. The company takes pride in reaching this goal as they open their first Arizona stores. In fact, the company’s strong growth plans center around providing as many people as with high-quality, affordable groceries. Something they can count on every day. Therefore, the company knows how to have easy access to fresh food and household essentials, which is very important, especially now.
People Want to Eat Healthy
The pandemic has put this into focus now more than ever with the shelves of many stores limited on supply especially in the early days of COVID-19 creating shortages. People, for the most part, want to eat healthily, but it’s often difficult because of the rising cost of food.
ALDI Chandler, Goodyear Stores
The Chandler, Arizona store will be at 2844 S. Alma School Road. The new Goodyear, Arizona store will be located at 845 N. Estrella Parkway. Both will offer delivery and curbside pick-up options. In fact, they have skyrocketed in popularity since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
The stores will add 40 jobs to the local economy. Job openings are on ALDI’s website.
Offering quality ingredients at low prices, each ALDI store is just 12,000 square feet to make navigating the aisles much easier. In fact, more than 90 percent of the products available in stores are exclusive to ALDI.
ALDI previously announced its Phoenix plans in July, pledging to add 70 new stores to its roster by the end of 2020. In fact, four new stores are planned for the Phoenix market.
