Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is my vehicle insured during the transportation process?
Car Transport FAQ's

YES, absolutely. Each vehicle is fully insured from pickup to drop-off by the Phoenix Car Transport Full Insurance Coverage. We personally ensure the vehicles, as part of our service to you. The only limitation on insurance relates to “Acts of God” — such as flood, tornado or earthquake, in which case coverage would revert to the owner’s vehicle insurance. Our record is that 99.1% of shipments arrive with no issues, in the same condition as they were picked up.

  1. Can personal items be placed in the vehicle?

We do not authorize personal belongings in the vehicle. No more than 100 pounds of soft goods such as pillows or blankets. Please, do not put items such as medicine, presents, or any other item that is needed by a specific time. If the truck is delayed, the items will not be available to you until the vehicle is delivered. Not only are auto shipping and car transport companies not insured for household goods, it is against the law for them to transport anything except your vehicle. The auto shipping and car transport truck is subject to inspection by the DOT and the Police at every state line and can be fined up to $10,000 if found to be carrying household goods.

  1. How do you ship my vehicle?

Phoenix Car Transport demonstrates a wide range of car shipping services. Open Car Transport is the easiest and cheapest way of car transport. However, no exotic or classic car needs to be transported in an open trailer. So, we offer Enclosed Car Transport. Enclosed trailers provide an extra level of protection for your vehicle. Also, Expedited Car Shipping is available at Phoenix Car Transport. If you want your vehicle to be shipped faster than it is a perfect option for you. And finally, Door-to-door Auto Transport, which is also a standard option. With every car shipping order, you are getting the Door-to-door option. Our drivers pick your vehicle up from your door and deliver it to the closest location of your choice.

  1. What if my vehicle doesn’t run?

Phoenix Car Transport ships a vehicle in any condition. Our drivers have the necessary equipment to handle all your needs, whether your vehicle is running or not. An additional fee can be charged for vehicles that do not run, to compensate the driver for the extra time and effort in loading, unloading and moving it. And that is it, you are done.

  1. How much gas should I leave in my vehicle?

It is recommended to leave between 1/8 and 1/4 tank of fuel in your vehicle. However, we will transport it with any amount.

  1. Can I put a car cover on my vehicle?

No! It’s not only against the law but what that would do to your vehicle after traveling several hundred (even thousands) of miles flapping against your paint. Not to mention there’s a pretty good chance that it will fly off in transit at some point. If you’re extremely concerned call us to know more about our Enclosed Car Transport service. It will be the perfect option for you to have a cover on your vehicle!

  1. How does Door-to-door Car Transport work?
Car Transport FAQ's

This type of auto shipping means that your vehicle is picked up from anywhere near your door and delivered as close as possible to the location of your choice. However, there are some cities that do not allow large trailers to enter residential areas. In such cases, Door-to-door Auto Transport is different. The trailers meet you at the nearest large parking lot where the vehicle is delivered.

  1. Will my vehicle be driven?

The auto shipping driver will drive your car on and off the car transport and may have to unload and re-load your car occasionally during transport to optimize space on the trailer. Your car should not be driven otherwise, and odometer readings should be noted at pickup and delivery.

  1. How long does it take to ship a car?

Your delivery date is usually determined by distance. On average, Phoenix Car Transport can deliver most auto shipments in 8 to 10 business days.  The delivery spread for your auto transport move will be clearly listed on your bill of lading. The time of your car shipping also depends on what type of car shipping you have chosen. If you choose Expedited Car Transport, your vehicle will be picked up and delivered on the nearest dates. Please note: The trucks go on their average speed and that process cannot be fastened up.

  1. How Do I Prepare My Vehicle for the Transportation?

Clean out your vehicle of all loose items as much as possible. Put nothing of value in the vehicle. Rarely is anything ever stolen, but why tempt, right? Keep extra items as previously discussed to a minimum and place in the trunk or out of sight. Have only about a quarter tank of gasoline. Give the auto transport carrier a set of keys and advise him of anything special you would like them to know about your vehicle or needs.
